We are looking for a Business Controller for our Logistics Business Unit in Helsinki.

We offer you a business unit’s management team position in logistics industry, along with the opportunity to contribute to VR Group's success in a rapidly changing market. The Finance unit of VR Group provides comprehensive financial services to the Group, aiming to support and enhance the business operations. The office is in modern facilities in Pasila, Helsinki, with excellent transport connections.

As a Business Controller, you'll hold a senior position within our Business Controller team, working closely with the top management of our business units. Your main responsibility will be overseeing financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for the unit, as well as carrying ad-hoc analysis and help the business understand what drives the financial success. You'll also coordinate finance activities between departments, ensuring smooth communication and alignment across all stakeholders.

In this position you are a member of Logistics Business Unit's management team and report to the CFO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supporting the success of Logistics Business Unit by:
  • Ensuring high-quality, efficient, and timely reporting 
  • Producing financial analyses to support management decision-making
  • Monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting, developing the forecasting process and tools, strategic calculations
  • Developing business analytics and metrics
  • Monitoring costs, identifying and analyzing cost deviations, and proposing actions to management
  • Investment calculations
  • Financial management within your unit

You have

• A Master's degree (e.g., M.Sc. in Economics, Industrial Engineering or equivalent)
• Over 5 years of experience as a Business Controller, bringing significant insight from this experience
• Strong understanding of financial processes and the ability to improve and streamline processes
• Knowledge of financial planning and consolidation systems
• Excellent Microsoft office tool skills (i.e. Excel and PowerPoint) 
• Strong communication skills in Finnish and English
• Great presentation and negotiation skills
• Previous experience as a member of business unit’s management team
• Great self-management and team leadership skills
